Story

What We Do

Gene's Gems is a unique store for people with unique and individual tastes. We carry antique, vintage and mid-century modern furniture and accessories. Do you need an antique wrought iron pot holder from Italy above your island in the kitchen? Maybe you're into a beautiful mid-century modern clock on your living room wall? We can customize most furniture we sell. If you decide you want a fun color on an end table, or a custom made piece for that corner in your home. We can also update your own personal items. We try to sell things that you won't find in any other store around. We make vendors a part of our family. Their original art and projects add a rich variety of hand made items to the store.

Background

We named the store after the owners great grandfather, who was her inspiration to build. He gave her the tools to create and the eye to find the gems hiding in plain sight. Gene was a WW2 veteran, and left a very long trail of skills spanning six generations. He will be remembered not only through the memories had by his friends and family, but in each gem that gets a new home.

Our Team

We are a small group of mostly family members. We have two owners, Kris and Tracy. Both of which help repair, restore, and create new unique pieces (gems) that are customizable at request. Just ask our business manager, Tad. You can find him most days at the store during business hours. We also have our online director and part time store operator, Amy.
